Practice Schedules for the Spring:
Baseball
Practices are on a week to week basis, Coach Cunningham sends out Team Snap reminders when and where they are practicing. When they are practicing it is usualy held after school at SEA 3 - 4:30.
Varsity Lacrosse
Practices are usually on Monday and Wednesday after school at SEA from 3 - 4:30.
Track Team
Practices are usually on Tuesday and Thursday Nights at Ursuline's Serviam Field from 5 - 6 PM (weather permitting)

Three Required Steps for Participation
All three steps must be completed before tryouts:1. SEA Registration (Required)
Your son must be formally registered with SEA before attending any evaluation or tryout. Click here to register now.
2. CYM Registration (Required)
Basketball families must also register on the CYM site using this link. When prompted, select Saint Edmond's as your parish.
3. Physical Examination (Required)
All students need a current physical on file with SEA, dated after June 1, 2025. For your convenience, please find the correct physical form for your Lancer’s grade level linked below.

Meet Our Director of Winter Basketball and Varsity Coaching Staff
We're excited to welcome Chris Corbino '78, father of two SEA graduates, and De'Joun Lee '11 as our new varsity coaches. They join Ray Ianni, parent of two Academy graduates, who has been coaching at SEA for many years.This coaching staff brings extensive experience across elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. The varsity coaching staff will oversee the entire basketball program grades 3-8, creating a unified culture and sense of connection throughout all levels so that our boys experience consistency as they develop. They will conduct all tryout sessions across grade levels.
Once tryouts have concluded, the Basketball Director and Athletic Department will reach out to coaches for the respective teams.

First Place Finish
Congratulations to our 7/8th grade 4 x 100 relay team of: Ryan Coleman. William Poole, Tyaire Herring, and Khaleef Wilson and alternate Jacob Russell as they captured First place in the world famous Penn Relays with a 48.94 finish. This is the first time accomplishment for our school since 2007.

SEA Spring Sports is Off and Running!
Over 96 Lancers are playing a Spring Sport this Spring '25:
Baseball rosters two different teams with over 23 participants with their first CYM competition starting this Sunday, Our Varsity is 1-0 on the season.
Track and Field Team has a 30 man roster competing in their first meet this Saturday at Tatnall HS. ,
Varsity Lacrosse has a 14 man roster and have already started their season 2 - 0. Our JV Lacrosse team has a roster of 12. They are getting better with each new practice.
Rugby has 17 participants and they are having fun on Fridaays with competitive drills, skill work, and games.
Good luck to all teams as they get into their CYM and season play.

Spring Sports have begun!

JV Lacrosse Lancers - Grades 3-5
Track - Grades 3-8
Rugby - Grades 3-8
3rd - 5th Grade Lacrosse will be Coached by Dylan Mooney after school 3 - 4:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays STARTING MARCH 10TH. A great experience to learn the game and get better with each new practice. Participants will not only learn the game, they will learn how to master stick skills, passing, shooting, and team strategy for the novice and the experienced confident player. Each participant will be challenged in a fun way while they improve as an individual and a team.
6th - 8th Grade Lacross will be Coached by Jon Nurry and Chris Malatesta. Their practices will be held at SEA from 3 - 4:30 two days per week STARTING MARCH 4TH. A great game to play and continue to learn as they compete with Pennsylcvania and Delaware schools.
6th - 8th Grade Baseball will be coached by Brian Cunningham and Dom Maiorano their practices will be held in the evening 5 - 6:30 STARTING THIS WEEK at our SEA field two times per week when posted. They will be playing in many games in the CYM league and will be playing numerous teams and will be playing at Salesianum new turf baseball field and the Blue Rock Stadiums.
Our Track team consisting of 3rd - 8th graders will be coached by Brian Johns after school on Tuesday and Thursdays 5 - 6 pm at Serviam Field STARTING MARCH 4TH. Our team competes in the CYM league and other various track event competitions like the Penn Relays. They conpete in relays, sprints, distance runs, high jump, long jump, and shotput.
Our Rugby offering is for grades 3rd - 8th grade and is spearheaded by Cole Ciber and they will be practicing and learning the game on Fridays after school from 3 - 4:30 STARTING MARCH 21st. Work on skills, conditioning, and game play. Learn the game, play the game, and have fun.
Join other Lancers after school in these safe, healthy, competitive, team, brotherhood building sports activities. If you haven't already registered your Lancer, you can do it now using this form

Winter Basketball Registration is Live!!!
BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS LIVE!
Registration for basketball (grades 3-8) for the Winter "24-"25 season is now live.
1) In order for your son to try out and participate on a SEA basketball team this winter he must be formally registered with SEA prior to attending any evaluation or tryout. Click Here's to sign up now.
2) Basketball families must also register on the CYM site using this link. [When prompted, please select Saint Edmond's as your 'parish' for this process.]
3) In addition- All students must have a physical examination on file with SEA, dated after June 1, 2024, in order to try out and participate on one of our basketball teams.

Summer Update
SEA would like to thank Joe “Bubba” McDonald and Mr. Kyle Stackhouse (Dean of Students / Basketball Director) for another successful basketball camp. They both contributed to making the 54th annual basketball camp a great success with the help of many others. It was awesome to hear and see the young boys and girls have fun and learn the game of basketball the last 3 weeks in the Louis J. Capano, Sr. Field House and Bill D’Amato Alumni Gymnasium. Thanks again and continue to enjoy your summer.
We are also currently looking for qualified Soccer coaches for the fall. We currently have openings for the 5th and 6th grade team and the 3rd and 4th grade team. Anyone interested please reach out to Kevin Winchell, Athletic Director, at kwinchell@stedmondsacademy.org for more information.
